Wildflower weekend


After a Sunday drive around the bright yellow canola crops which always look fantastic this time of year, the bushland on the outer reaches of our farm was awash with wild flowers in the slightly more delicate hues of purple, pink and white.

Water-colouring away


The blossoms in the garden have almost finished their annual show. Next on the (painting) cards is the wattle - now in abundance both in the garden and around the farm.

Sketching the magnolia


The beautiful blooms of the magnolia tree in my garden don't allow for any painting procrastination - this one lasted about 2 hours in a vase before wilting.

Painting the spring garden


Spring has sprung here in country Victoria and the garden is providing a great array of floral subject matter to paint. Hopefully the wind won't blow away all of the blossoms before I get to finish them!

Shades of blue



The gorgeous blue hues of the muscari and spring star bulbs lend themselves to be painted in watercolour.
